Description:

One day, some thieves find 8 crates of children's books in the basement of a spooky house. These are not normal children's books, as they have been written by Austerley Fellows, a black magician from 80 years past, and his book has come back to recreate his vision and bring the end of this world. Slowly one by one people become enchanted by its spell and take on the personas of the characters from the book, Dancing Jacks, in which they become totally absorbed into it. Only the world of Dancing Jacks has any real meaning thereafter for them, whilst reality takes on a grey and boring tone and can only be tolerated by eating the minchin fruit. There is a way to break the spell, but can those who are not bewitched find the key for each person? What is behind this evil plot? All will be revealed in coming books.
