Mere minutes after arriving at their Nantucket family beach home, 9-year-old Scotty Sullivan was out the back door, scrambling toward the shore, with Larry, the family dog—fast on his heels. Now late in the afternoon in mid-spring, the typical summer beach crowd visitors were still weeks away. Then Scotty became aware of an odd-looking object, hovering just above the crashing surf. In an age of hobbyist’s drones and all sorts of flying gadgets, he wasn’t overly concerned until the large flying object moved much, much, closer. A storm was brewing and dark clouds blanketed the sky. Nervously, Scotty turned and tried to spot his house—somewhere off behind the dunes—but it would be sixteen years before he’d see it again.

Another winner by Mark Wayne McGinnis
Action, imagination, adventure, and wonderment all rolled into one. I don't know how Mark comes up with all his unique ideas, but I am glad he does. As with every other book that I have read by this author, I enjoyed this book greatly. I can hardly wait for book 2.
In the meantime, I will start reading Ship Stranded on an alien world. I imagine another winner from Mark Wayne McGinnis. Mark's books have been some of the best science fiction books that I have ever read. Choose any of them and you won't be disappointed. I especially liked the Scrapyard series. Keep 'em coming Mark and I will keep reading them.-

Very Believable Storyline! A Wonderfully, thought-provoking novel!
What an outstanding novel! I REALLY enjoyed reading this book and was thoroughly engaged and interested in the way it unfolded!😊 Thoughtfully structured and detailed; I was transported into the story as if I were an actual character written into it! The science is well explained and elegantly detailed. The concepts and premise of the storyline are fully plausible to the point of believability.- GHIGGS
Boy Gone by Mark Wayne McGinnis
This author really writes a good story that makes time stop and pages turn. I enjoyed every part of the book. I'm not going to tell you what the story is about because I'm not going to spoil a great time you are going to have read it. Yes, it's SciFi but written in a way that keeps your interest. It doesn't get you lost in a lot of stuff that you have to figure out, it is a story I wish I had written.- Tom
NASA explores scifi extraterrestrials / Fun Sci-fi Alien Abduction!
Compelling, imaginative story with excellent characters and terrific alien culture. Refreshing, snappy, and sometimes humorous prose. Since I am from Massachusetts, the Nantucket location roped me in and wouldn't let me go until I finished this book. Of course, I read it too fast and was sad to find I finished it. This entertaining book is fun action adventure science fiction as it is meant to be! Can't wait for the next book in the series.- S
Fascinating Adventure Syfy Story
Mark is one of my favorite authors, and Boy Gone is my favorite book of his (so far). Love all his books, though... Scrapyard Ship, Star Watch, USS Hamilton, and Ship Wrecked Stranded on an Aline World... to name a few. - Amazon Customer
Great read, kept going until I was at the last ...
Great read, kept going until was at the last page throughout the evening and late into the night. Great characters, great premise, it just flows until suddenly it's over and your wanting book 2 right then and there. I highly recommend it to all readers, not just sci-fi addicts lol. Seriously, great yourself with this winner.- Voyager
Boy Gone. Action Adventure Science Fiction.
I love Mark's books. Boy Gone was amazing but I also love his Scrapyard Ship and Star Watch series. And his USS Hamilton series, The Fallen Ship and The Test Pilot's Wife.- KL
