About The Author Algernon Blackwood was a British writer who was born in London in 1869. His father was a barrister, and he attended Eton and Oxford. Initially, he worked as a journalist but later turned to writing fiction. In 1889, he published his first short story, and in 1911, his first novel, The Centaur. He wrote numerous ghost stories and supernatural tales that were immensely popular during his lifetime. It has been said that Blackwood's work is comparable to that of Edgar Allan Poe and Henry R. James, and he has long been considered as one of the great masters of the genre.

Throughout his career, Blackwood wrote over fifty novels and short stories. He is best known for his supernatural tales, which often contain eerie, otherworldly scenes. The stories he wrote were adapted for radio and television many times. Fans of horror and the supernatural continue to read and admire his work. Unfortunately, in 1951, he passed away.
