I like Billy Wells. His story ideas are fresh and original and nearly always have an unexpected twist at the end. "Scary Stories" Vol 1 is no exception. "The Iceman" and "Cold Calls" are my particular favorites. The stories are a bit longer than Wells' previous stories, but are not drawn out. A very satisfying read. Caroline from Goodreads This was my first story collection from Billy Wells but it definitely won't be my last. I was supremely engaged with this anthology of horror tales. Being that it's a book of stories, same resonated more than others but that's a minor quibble as I enjoyed all and was disappointed to come to the book's end. Highly recommended and I can't wait to read more from this imaginative author! Otis Bateman from Goodreads I can't tell you why I picked this book up in the first place except I must have thought it an anthology (it is). After I read the first couple of stories, I doubled back and bought every book in the series (and waiting to see if there'll be more). If this isn't a recommendation, don't know what I! ;) Keli from Goodreads Scary, scary, scary. You might say that i'm crazy by liking scary and not-right books. But, they are quite interesting and maybe you would see that too if you actually read one... Overall, I like these books because they grab me in and don't let go! Murray5thgrade2015 from Goodreads
About the Author
I just published my eighth collection of horror stories with surprise endings, Dead Things: A Collection of Horror . I truly believe some of my best work is in this collection. Hopefully, my readers will agree. My third compilation of mostly horror stories with surprise endings, "Don't Look Behind You", has been a best seller on Amazon. Thanks to everyone who helped make it my most successful offering. In order to satisfy requests from readers who enjoy thrills and chills, but not as much horror, I compiled "Thrillers & Chillers" from my first two compilations, "Black As Night" and "Shivers and otheer Nightmares." Afterward, I created another compilation of the remaining, most gruesome stories from the first two books entitled "In Your Face Horror". All are available on amazon.com in paperback and kindle. My web site, billywellshorror.com, includes sample stories from all eight collections. I have just completed my ninth book, which I will probably title, Scary Stories-Volume 6.Since reviews are the life's blood of every author, I would greatly appreciate a review of any of my books on Amazon.com.Stephen KIng is my favorite horror writer, and I admire what King has accomplished in the horror genre in terms of movies made from his considerable volume of work. My Coffeesmoke channel on You Tube has amassed over 2,300,000 hits, mostly from my "Dead Celebrities" videosI love movies and had seen over 1,500 by the age of 13 when there was snow on 13 channels after midnight. My favorite horror movies are Halloween, Night of the Living Dead, and the Evil Dead. My favorite movie of all time Is Frank Capra's It's A Wonderful Life with James Stewart. My favorite authors are Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, John Sandford, Michael Connelly, Robert B. Parker , Clive Cussler, James Patterson, Jeffery Deaver, Dean Koontz, Edgar Allen Poe, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, James Lee Burke and Richard Matheson. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
